Spin-Orbit Coupled Materials

This symposium will focus on materials in which strong spin-orbit coupling drives novel quantum phenomena such as the existence of topologically interesting phases and spin-split states in Rashba systems. Topics will include: 2D materials and heterostructures; Topological insulators and topological crystalline insulators; Giant Rashba systems; Exotic topological phases such as the Weyl and Dirac semi-metals; Spin/Valley electronics applications; and, experimental characterizations.
